Who Interviews?

• Any student who is not currently in the grade 8 Calvin Park, Odessa, or Loughborough Challenge Programs. That means any grade 8 student from any other school in or outside the Limestone District School Board achieving consistently at Level 4.

When are the interviews?

• Interviews take place on three dates during semester II. These are: February 21st, March 6th, and March 20th, 2012. Audition slots begin at 2:45 pm on those days.

How long is an interview?

• An audition is approx. 15 minutes in duration.

How do I get an interview?

• Complete the application form for L.C.V.I. as well as the additional form for Challenge by the application deadline. Clearly indicate your home high-school to which you have applied as well as what other programs to which you have applied.
• Sign up for an interview either at grade 8 Parent Information Night on January 18th, 2012 or by phoning 613-546-5575 ext. 303.

How will I know when my interview is?

• Our Student Services secretary, Bobbi Jo Scott, will telephone you to tell you your audition time on the designated day.

What should I prepare for the interview?

• Bring a cover letter to your interview explaining what interests you about the Challenge program, what you hope to gain from it as well as what you hope to contribute to it.
• Bring your most recent report card.
• Prepare a couple of questions to ask the panel after your performance. The interview portion is a dialogue and an opportunity to find out more about both Challenge and L.C.V.I.

Can parents or an agent be present during the interview?

• A designated waiting area for parents or agents is provided. They are welcome to wait while interviews are completed.

When will I know if I have been accepted into the Challenge program?

• By the end of March 2012, letters will be sent out to all applicants at their home addresses to indicate whether or not they have a seat in the program.
